** Special Sparkman Club Pool Social Distancing and Health Rules **

Your Sparkman Club Board of Directors remains committed to taking every step to ensure our community remains safe and healthy while also complying with both Texas law and City of Dallas regulations as it pertains to the opening of swimming pools. We have taken many pool operating models into consideration and have discussed each at length with the goal of allowing our beloved Sparkman summer tradition to continue despite the times.

We are currently able to operate the pool at 50% operating capacity. We will monitor and amend this operating model throughout the summer as Texas and city laws and guidelines continue to change.

What does this mean to operate at 50% capacity? It means we must limit the number of people within the fenced pool area to a total of 92 members at any given time (includes adults and children). In order to do that and remain fair to all members, the following guidelines and procedures have been established … please read thoroughly:

NEW Pool Gate Check-In Procedure

  • All Members must stop at the pool entrance gate and be checked in by a lifeguard before entering the pool area. (6ft indicators will be established to ensure safe social distancing while waiting to enter the pool area)
  • All member temperatures will be checked at the gate prior to entrance with a no-contact thermometer. Temperatures over 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed admittance into the fenced pool area
  • Upon check-in, the lifeguard will provide the member with a band(s) to tag the table, lounge chair or chaise that you use. The band(s) notifies staff and other members that the tagged furniture is in use and will need to be sanitized at the end of the time block. Members should NOT remove any bands from items – the lifeguards will remove bands once the furniture has been safely sanitized at the end of each time block

NEW Health and Safety Guidelines/Rules While Within the Pool Gates:

  • Maintain social distance guidelines of 6ft and avoid gathering in groups of larger than 10 individuals
  • All tables and chairs have been placed 6ft apart and are not to be moved
  • Minimize in-person contact with other members not within your household
  • Sanitize your hands as needed with the provided hand sanitizer located at the check-in table and lifeguard shack
  • Concession stand will remain closed
  • Ice machine will be off and not available for use
  • Lockers will be off limits
  • At the end of your time block, members will be asked to leave in preparation for the next time block of members
  • Masks are encouraged, however not required
  • Members are encouraged to bring their own sanitizer and to wash their hands after any contact with individuals or items and avoid touching your face, when possible.

BEFORE going to the pool, all members should self-screen for any of the following new or worsening signs or symptom of possible COVID-19:

  • Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit, known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19
  • If anyone in a member household tests positive for Covid-19, all other members of the household are not allowed at the pool for 14 days.

As mentioned above, as Texas and city laws/guidelines evolve, our pool policy will as well. We continue to encourage members to adopt additional protocols consistent with their specific needs and circumstances to help protect the safety and health of all members of our community including but not limited to, bringing your own sanitizer, washing your hands after any contact with individuals or items, avoiding touching your face etc. Take actions based on common sense and wise judgment to protect your and our overall community health.

Let’s continue our strong tradition of banding together as one strong Sparkman community, following guidelines and rolling with the changes as they come. If you have questions about any of the above guidelines, they can be directed to

We’ll see you at the pool!
